Overview

The Jacksonville Home + Patio Show’s returns with three days of wall-to-wall content and features including home improvement ideas, local experts, project inspiration and educational stage presentations. The agenda includes a special guest appearance by  , best-known as carpenter on the fan-favorite renovation show Fixer Upper.    On Fixer Upper, he spent five seasons as the dumpster diving, reclaimed wood-loving carpenter building whatever renowned designer  could dream up.  is also known for his work on Magnolia Network’s Restoration Road.     On Restoration Road with , has traveled the country telling stories of amazing structures that are close to destruction and the people with the skills and guts to bring them back to life. In each episode he dives into the history (good or not so good) of not only the structures, but the people. businesses and stories that make up each place he visits.  appears on the Fresh Ideas Stage on Friday, September 27 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 28 at Noon.    In addition to ’s appearances, other show features include:  Eat Your Yard. The expert gardeners with the non-profit are back with free workshops on how to grow, prepare, and eat your yard. Guests looking to live a more sustainable, greener lifestyle will walk away educated and motivated to start cultivating an edible garden right away.  Make It, Take It Plant Workshops. Give that green thumb a workout and learn how to be an even better plant parent at one of the hands-on make and take projects presented by the Garden Club of Jacksonville. The workshops are free but limited to 10 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. For a workshop schedule, please visit . The Garden Club space is located in Booth 615,  Food Truck Rally.  Back by popular demand, a variety of local food trucks will rally near the South Entrance of the show on Friday and Sunday. Area food trucks will be on-hand with local fare for lunch and dinner during show hours.  Party Season Prep. The weather outside may still be frightful(ly hot), but believe it or not the holidays are right around the corner. Show guests looking ahead will want to check out the four Holiday Tablescapes designed by and .    Get Into The Spirit(s). Just in time for tailgate and entertaining season, the Irish siblings behind and return to the Fresh Ideas Stage daily to share can’t miss cocktail concoctions.    The show also features special admission throughout the show to honor local heroes, nurses and teachers.    To recognize local heroes, the show celebrates first responders, active military personnel, veterans, EMTs, healthcare workers, firefighters and police with complimentary admission all three days of the show (with valid ID). All new this year, nurses and teachers now receive complimentary admission for all three days, too.     Seniors aged 60+ are also celebrated on Friday with special $5 admission at the Box Office with valid ID.   Show hours are Friday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.–8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
